What is SAGE?
SAGE is a group for people 55 and older who love going on adventures and serving the church body. SAGE has monthly events like watching movies, going to concerts, attending sporting events, camping and more. We have a blast connecting with other people in the church, mentoring parents, and encouraging young adults through this exciting ministry!

Rich Cloud, Ministry Leader
Thank you -- Fred and Madeline
SAGE Ministry (55+ age) was founded by Fred and Madeline Collins some 5 ½ years ago as way to minister to the older adults at WPCC. Until early in 2018, when Fred had to step down to handle health related issues, this ministry remained Fred’s focus, passion and outreach at WPCC. Because of these health issues, it was also necessary for them to move to Texas to be with family. Fred and Madeline were able to attend the SAGE picnic on July 14th and they were honored with a small keepsake gift (SAGE Ministry logo mugs w/their names) for their service to God’s work. Fred also had a few moments to share his vision for SAGE. We will always thank Fred and Madeline for all they have meant to SAGE.
On July 14th the annual SAGE picnic occurred at Ferrel and Janis Minick’s property. Thanks to the Minick’s for their willingness to host this event. It was a wonderful time for everyone who came. The weather cooperated to give us a semi-cool day with no rain, the food was scrumptious and the Rocky River Band played tunes that had everyone singing along (and those of who sing poorly…humming). All of this, plus a herd of maybe 200 elk who visited nearby, made this a grand time. We had 65+ in attendance.
On July 29th several SAGEs, their relatives and friends, plus three younger church families (42 total) attended the SkySox game against the Albuquerque Isotopes. Our group enjoyed a wonderful, all-you-can-eat buffet lunch. Unfortunately, the current monsoon season put a damper on the game with an extended rain delay after a good 1st inning start by the SkySox (5-0 lead). 5 brave souls stayed for the 2+ hour delayed restart to see the SkySox prevail with a score of 7-2.
