Theodore Roosevelt:
"There are many kinds of success in life worth having. It is exceedingly interesting and attractive to be a successful business man, or railroad man, or farmer, or a successful lawyer or doctor, or a writer, or a president, or a ranchman, or the colonel of a fighting regiment, or to kill grizzly bears and lions. But for unflagging interest and enjoyment, a household of children, if things go reasonably well, certainly makes all other forms of success and achievement lose their importance by comparison."

Missed Opportunity

Our sweet neighbor, Jet Leitner, died yesterday. We knew him a bit - would stop to chat when driving by, had visited with him a couple of times while building. He helped us with some grading work on the driveway, and from what we knew of him, he was a kind, gentle, older man, who lived alone. A week or so after we moved in, I made him a fresh loaf of sweet bread, and brought it by...with the intent to continue bringing him bread or baked goods every-so-often...just to reach out with neighborly… Continue

"Giving My Life to Jesus" -- What Does This Look Like For My Kids???

Posted on January 14, 2009 at 10:00pm 6 Comments

As in many Christian families, our children have been inundated with the Word of God, prayer, worship music, etc, since the day they were born. Kevin & I have always prayed over them, with them, and for them. We've stayed fairly consistent with having family devotions and prayer time since the oldest kids were toddlers. The children have seen & experienced first-hand the miraculous, providing, healing Hand of God in our lives. They all know & sing a handful of hymns & worship… Continue

Art of Marriage Conference at Woodland Park Community Church

Thumbnail
February 11, 2012 from 8:45am to 4pm
When you were standing at the altar reciting your marriage vows, did you have any idea that marriage would be so complex? It probably didn’t take you long to understand that your spouse is not as much like you as you thought. But figuring them out is more than just an equation. Marriage is more than a science; it’s an art. And like any art form, requires an investment of time, focused study and the right tools. If you need to soften some of the edges in your relationship, or want to brighten…See More

Have been learning to pray on my face...practicing what we learned in worship service a few weeks ago.  It is hard - and so good - and convicting, transforming, humbling, painful.  Wrote about it (and creative team),…

Jesus, we need You.  So much fear in this world.  So much hurt and suffering.  Please, please send Your Holy Spirit, to bring wisdom and comfort.  We long for relief; and yet we ask for strength to endure, to submit, to find You…

Yeah I wrote a 'blog' about it that I posted on the website about dealing with pain/hopes that don't come to fruition. It's called: When His Will and Your Dream Collide... :)

Oh American Idol. Ha.Yeah, my judge said my audition was "lovely" but I didn't advance to the next round. :( They said we (my row of 4) were not what they were looking for. I found out later when I was interviewed for TV Guide that the show is mostly fixed anyway. That was a bummer to hear... but oh well. I prayed about it a TON before going. I had earnestly prayed that if it wasn't supposed to happen, that it wouldn't (despite how I'd feel). It was VERY hard for me, since it was something I had been wanting since the inception of the show, but after I got over the emotions, I could take comfort in the fact that it wasn't God's will. :)

Hey Teri! I just wanted to tell you how wonderful I think you are. You sounded incredible yesterday! I know I don't know you very well, but I just want to thank you for your heart and vulnerability up on stage. It is refreshing to see people so open, even just in sharing scripture during worship time. That might not have made any sense... haha. But anyway, thank you for being you! We love ya! :)

Thanks Teri! Missed my dad's passing but feel that God wanted me here more for my mom and after arrangements. I am coming home Saturday and can't wait to be back with the boys. I am hanging in there and clinging to the Lord. Love, Suz

Jet's kids have been there but I will double check on the cars. Thanks for letting us know. There will be a "life celebration" on Sunday February 15th at the Crystola Inn at 2:00. It is going to be a pot luck so if you would like to make anything that would be great just let me know.
Thanks for everything, Kim
