When you were standing at the altar reciting your marriage vows, did you have any idea that marriage would be so complex? It probably didn’t take you long to understand that your spouse is not as much like you as you thought. But figuring them out is more than just an equation. Marriage is more than a science; it’s an art. And like any art form, requires an investment of time, focused study and the right tools. If you need to soften some of the edges in your relationship, or want to brighten…See More

4 1/2 years a member...actually, I never went through the new members class...I interviewed with the elders four different times and then I had to preach in front of the church and then everyone voted on me...I made it! Be happy you don't have to do the same thing to be a member.
What type of work do you do?
I preach twice on Sunday morning for about 35 minutes each...it is a great gig.
If you are comfortable in sharing..... What is your story of seeking/ knowing Jesus Christ?
I began to seek after Jesus as a teenager and put my trust in him when I was 16 years old. It took me a few years to really decide to follow Him wholeheartedly...but when I did, it has been a wild adventure every since.
List any of your personal interests or hobbies so we can know you better
I had a motorcycle until I was 30...someday I'll get another one. I really like ice cream but it is beginning to take its toll on me. I like working with wood and hope to someday build furniture and stuff. I grew up waterskiing, fishing, swimming, boating and hunting. I want to continue learning how to fly fish. I've given up on waterskiing...it hurts too much. I really like going to my kids sporting events and getting to know their friends in High School. I watch Nascar on Sunday afternoons to recover from Sunday morning...I usually fall asleep around lap 30 and wake up before the end of the race.
If married and or have any kids please tell us about them?
All three of my kids, David, Becca and Sarah are in High School. It has become my "Third Place". First place = Home; Second place=work/church. My wife, Carol is also part-time athletic trainer at the high school so we do spend a lot of time there. My kids think I look like the KFC guy, Colonel Sanders, hence my profile picture...it is actually a pretty good likeness.
If you are part of our community, what's your favorite thing about our fellowship?

Yes, Kent did in fact, take this picture. I was badly in need of a wax, but didn't have any other pics of myself. Wow, your pic is so good that you could be on billboards!
I thought you would be encouraged by this story I ran across today. I can't beleive anyone would be so disrespectful as to throw you in the river. Sad.
