Hi Donna,
Thanks for asking about me. I just read your profile. Forty years of marriage. WOW! That is great. Our 33rd anniversary is coming up the end of April this year. Our daughter got married last July 4th and is living in Belgium with her new husband. We communicate fairly easy because of SKYPE and email. We can actually call on our cell phones for very reasonable fee.

I see that you are involved with homeschooling your grandkids. Yea for you. I am a homeschool advocate. I would like to see more people homeschool. We homeschooled our daughter 6th grade through 12th. I loved all of it. Although, Jack did the most of the high school math and science since he was available. I am thankful that I could do it. My daughter prospered because of the homeschooling.

Jack was just diagnosed with Type II diabetes. He has an auto-immune disease that probably helped it along. He is taking it on as a challenge. We have both been eating pretty healthy these last few years, but this will just make us healthier. As for exercise, we purchased a top of the line Nordic Track treadmill last fall because of the extreme heat here in the summer. Now we can watch TV as we exercise.

That extreme heat of summer is our excuse to go to the coast about once a month during the summer to have respite from it. We are about 2.5 hours from the central coast. We have a favorite little artsy town we like to visit. I just love listening to the waves and viewing the elephant seals.

I am volunteering at the senior center here in Hanford. I just committed myself to tutoring some of the seniors on how to use the computer for email and web surfing.

If you ever get to California please let us know; we would love to see you. Contrary to all the bad politics, there are some very nice places to see here. We are only about 2 to 4 hours away from just about any national park, the ocean, etc. We are just down the hill from Sequoia National Park.

Time to quit rambling,

Pat

Hi Donna,

I like your pictures. How could I ever forget those cookies. Thank heavens for tube cookie dough!

I hope you are all well. I do miss being a part of the church. We haven't found a church home here in Hanford. We have been watching Charles Stanley on Sunday mornings. I love how he explains the Bible, etc. I do miss the fellowship of a church though.

Take care,
Pat Lewis
