Meeting Nalo

It was our third night there, at "Breanna's House of Joy", outside Chiang Mai Thailand. I still didn't know very many of their names. Mostly they were a blur of little bodies and teenage giggles and beautiful faces. Always smiling, hugging me, holding my hands, surrounding and pressing into me constantly. Pulling this way and that. Needing love and attention. After dinner of rice with pumpkin soup, one of our team members mentioned that two of the little girls were sick. Everyone was up in the…See More

Good Friday Passover Meal at Woodland Park Community Church

Thumbnail
April 2, 2010 from 6:30pm to 8pm
This is a family event. This Passover Meal combines the traditional elements of the Jewish Passover and shows how Christ was the fulfillment. This is more of a taster than a full meal so it is suggested that you eat before attending. Childcare is available for children 5 and under. Click here, if you would like more information of the Seder (Passover) Meal.

Profile Information

Are you a member of the church or just visiting?
We've been visiting for like, 5 years now. We never got around to trying out other churches, per "the plan".
What type of work do you do?
Domestic goddess type stuff. You know, anything and everything.
If you are comfortable in sharing..... What is your story of seeking/ knowing Jesus Christ?
My faith journey started in childhood. It's been interesting, perplexing, brutal, intoxicating, slow, surprising, exhilerating, intermittent...and I am still on it. I am learning... To enjoy the journey. To trust Jesus with the past and the future and just put everything I've got into the present, into what He is calling me to experience or choose this moment. That the truest things I know about God, I experienced outside of religion. That there is this strange equation between how well I love others and how deep and strong my relationship is with my Abba...that you can't have one without the other.
List any of your personal interests or hobbies so we can know you better
Reading, riding motorcycles, sleeping, cooking and eating, coffee with friends, holistic health.
I really want to skydive. I want to live on a beach for awhile. I want to learn how to cook French, Thai and Australian cuisine. I want to tour the castles of the world.
If married and or have any kids please tell us about them?
My husband Roy, God's most excellant gift to me, has loved me well for 14 years now. Logan, our firstborn is 11, likes to read, and excels at most everything. Cole, our sweet little ray of sunshine, is 9 and keeps us laughing.
If you are part of our community, what's your favorite thing about our fellowship?
I love that our community environment is increasingly more conducive to growth and change. That many...even most, of us are willing to be open and vulnerable enough to allow each other to knock off the rough edges, impart wisdom and love well.
What are you reading?
It changes every few days. I read alot.
What are you passionate about?
Beauty. Love. Truth.
Enjoying it, creating it, helping others find and appreciate it. There is so much beauty and goodness all around us. When I really open my eyes and my heart, it's these things that begin to eclipse the problems of life. It's a shift of perspective. A new kind of sight.

haha, this summer is gonna be a blast. u should let me know when the hiking and elitch's trips are for the youth group cuz i really want to go! yeah, 2 proms...and already sick of it haha. I went with this guy who's a swedish foreign exchange student, but he goes to manitou. school gets out this thursday! so I'm gonna start my summer off with going to paradise cove on friday! and then sometime next week im going to elitch's with my bro. I hope to hangout with a lot of people this summer, and I'm gonna camp and hike and hopefully ski-do and ride a motorcycle for the first time. I can't wait! i have it all pretty much planned out! and yes, I'm gonna be working at manitou springs pool, and maybe green mtn. falls pool. I'm excited! we definatly need to chill this summer, and if my mom lets me, maybe we can even go motorcycling haha. well email back when u get a chance. love ya!

Then i went to the second prom (his prom in manitou), and the music was ridiculous! it's like we were at an 80s dance. and there were only 50 people there...it was lame haha. but also fun. How are you? gonna do anything fun this summer?

Dear Mrs. Donna,
I'll try to make a fairy, but it won't be very profesional. Did I spell profesional right? Well, I'm not takin' the purple and green colors off my page! See ya!

Just a heads up... At this point I won't be able to lead a group for Famine, as far as music goes. The neck of my guitar broke and is unrepairable. Maybe you will be able to find someone else in the next few days... :(

Hey I didn't mean to rush out on ya this morning. :) I just had a bunch of stuff I needed to do this afternoon before youth.... Did you find anything out about worship at Famine??

Thanks for the info -- MOPS does sound like fun; Weston and I will probably join that this summer. I was thinking about joining the Shiloh group, but I am not sure if that's really the place for me. The women in that group seem to be in a different life stage than I am (I like how you put that). Anyway, Travis and I love doing anything outside: hiking, driving, motorcycling, camping; in fact, Trav went skiing for the day. We can't wait for spring and the chance to get back outside more often. I am also working on my master's degree right now, so my weekends are often busy with that. Where do you work now?
