"In need of a washer and dryer. If you have these for sale, please call Diane @ 719-393-5366. Dave's cell doesn't work in the new home and there is no land line. Thanks!"

Profile Information

Are you a member of the church or just visiting?
Quasi-member. I am a member, but have not signed the official "document" yet.
What type of work do you do?
Disabled/Music/C++ Programming on a volunteer basis.
If you are comfortable in sharing..... What is your story of seeking/ knowing Jesus Christ?
This is in itself a four+ hour discussion!

Raised in the church.
Dissolutioned by the behavior of the Nazarene church I attended and the outright abuse of the offering plate.

USMC Vietnam Era

J.W. selling the "religion is a snare and a racket". I still agree that they are right of large religious organizations. They are WRONG in that they include any faith outside their own as a snare, when in reality it really applies to them. FAITH is no snare. Big massive organizations are easily turned into a snare. Was captive for 28 years even though their transliteration of the Bible was still sending me the message of Christ and prickling my conscience.

Came to faith by removing the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society from their authoritative facisim, and put the Bible back on top. I let the Bible speak for itself and to me personally.

After 28ish years, I apologized to Christ for humanizing Him. My apology was accepted and I was forgiven. I was driving up Ute Pass on the I-24, right by the hikers pull off. I remember that moment. No sounds, no visions, no voices. It was an instinctive inner knowledge of peace that suddenly came upon me. That night was the first truly peaceful night's rest I've had.

And in the trials of my health, I have faced death twice since, and each time I went into the O.R., I was no longer panicked as before as a J.W.
Someone went with me. Someone unseen. And I had not received any drugs when I went into the O.R. so it's not that. It was either an Angel of God, or Christ himself who walked into that O.R. with me both times. It was an ethereal calm. I knew instinctively that I had true peace with God and was ready for death should it take me.

Previous brushes with death as a J.W. were frightful, and something in my gut told me something's not right. It was again, an instinctive intuition.

But then God the Father drew me to His son as Christ as it is written. I now enjoy peace with God as a result of His master plan.

In time I was re-baptized as a Christian. My passion is His Word the Bible.

I can no longer drive because of the strokes, and attend when I can and have transport that has to be provided for me. My faithful wife of 33 years has not followed me out of the J.W. organization, but the Bible is prickling her conscience too.

We were guaranteed by Christ, and the thought reinforced by the apostle Paul. It is a fight we are in, a war. A war as real as Vietnam. But it is the dark forces that we fight. They can see us, but we can't see them with our literal eyes.

We must fight by whatever mean s we have available. For me, it's espousing the validity and outright POWER of the Bible, and walking the walk, not just talking the talk.

The Dark Side wants to enslave and destroy all of humanity. We inherited Adam's sin and resultant imperfection. Satan had successfully enslaved all of humanity. Christ came to free and save the world, and instructed His followers to spread the Word.

I am doing just that by my limited means. It is uncanny how similar being a physical soldier, and a soldier of Christ is. Paul also emphasized this thought by drawing an analogy to a Roman's Armor, to spiritual armor of Christ and of God.

Spread the Word! Do not be judges of each other. Love unconditionally as did Jesus. Revere, respect, and honor His word.

Spread the Word! Shine the light! Save others by your example and coaching.

WALK THE WALK.....
List any of your personal interests or hobbies so we can know you better
Bible Research. Understand Jewish idioms.
If married and or have any kids please tell us about them?
Son, Daniel, 32. Non-believer

Russian Adopted Daughter, Yekaterina (Katya), almost 19, not sure about God. Holds God responsible and carries a grudge against God for her suffering in orphanages for the first 9 years of her life.
If you are part of our community, what's your favorite thing about our fellowship?
Brotherly love is shown. The ability to study the word, and think through it, discuss it, unlike the J.W.'s where I was for 28ish years.
What are you reading?
Bible
What are you passionate about?
The value and power of the Bible when you let it speak for itself, and not let other religious systems "spiritualize" it and twist it into things it does not say.

Folks who grow up in the church, don't recognize how blessed they are. To be in a cult has left many unhealable scars (in this life).

The BIBLE is THE authority. It's God's Word, and we need to hold it sacred, read it, follow Christ our exemplar, and in reverence of it's Divine origins.

The Bible was brought to our modern eyes through the bloodshed, persecution, and death of thousands. Do not forget those who gave their lives to preserve this wonderful document.

Dave,
Great to see you hear, but selfishly, I wish I could see your face at WPCC and hear your sax wail like only you can make it. I'm traveling this summer, so hey from Kansas. Hope to catch up this Fall and worship together some Thursday night or Sunday. Take good care of yourself!
