1880
Pioneers who desired church services met at a log schoolhouse near
Woodland Park (then called Manitou Town site).
1890
The old building at Park and Henrietta stands on a lot given to the
Free Methodist Church of Woodland Park by Mrs. Henrietta Steffa
(Henrietta Avenue is named for her.)

1921
During WWI, the church had fallen into disuse. After the war, a
Ladies' Aid Society formed for the purpose of founding an
evangelical, nondenominational church in Woodland Park. Mr. Peter
Loy donated $250 for the purchase of the dilapidated Free Methodist
building and repairs were made.
1924
Mrs. Cora Patterson financed the addition of a Sunday School room
on the west side of the building. The youth of the church raised
money to purchase the bell (which we still ring on Sunday
mornings).
1927
Everett Dillon was called as the first full-time pastor. His
marriage while pastor was the first wedding in the church.
1948
The church was incorporated as Woodland Park Community Church and
the first constitution was adopted.
1985
The house at Henrietta and Center was purchased as a meeting place
for the youth. The church's first youth pastor was hired.
1993
The old building and property was traded for a 5.4 acre site at 800
Valley View Drive. First capital campaign: Breaking Ground /
Building Lives.
1995
Dedication of the new building. WPCC's new facility.

1996
Our 75th anniversary! Capital stewardship campaign, "Bridge to the
Future," launched to reduce bank debt and provide improvements to
our facility.
1997
VISION 2002 adopted; Associate Pastor of Family Ministry added to
pastoral staff. Vision statement adopted. (Vision 2002) Goal of
becoming an outreaching church is set.
2000
Christian Life and Service Seminars (C.L.A.S.S.) begun to better
assimilate and equip all involved.
2002
In the spring, the church was given a modular building to use for a
youth facility. That summer it was moved west of our present
building and renovated for the youth ministry. In the winter of
2003, our youth had a place they could call their own.

2004
In the winter of 2004, our children's ministry expanded beyond what
our present facility could handle. We had already run out of any
additional office space so no new staff could be added. To solve
both issues, we purchased the 8,000 square foot building adjacent
to our current property. After the office building was renovated,
we moved the church office in the summer of 2004. This freed up
needed space for children's ministry expansion.
