God is so good!
We have been so blessed at CHOICES, that I wanted to share these exciting things with you so we can celebrate together.
First of all, 98% of our ultrasound clients in 2010 chose LIFE, that's 44 precious babies. This is a powerful testament to the effectiveness of seeing into the womb, and to the benefit of finding a mentor willing to stand with them through this tough time.
In addition, our client traffic shot up at the end of 2010. We saw 158% more new clients in the 4th quarter than in the 3rd. Our goal in 2010 was to reach the client that is truly in crisis, for whom abortion is a consideration and walking into CHOICES is often an impulse.
Our new office in Cripple Creek opened this week! We now have two full service offices, both cozy and welcoming, positioned near the schools to reach as many vulnerable and hurting young people as we can. The City of Cripple Creek couldn't have been kinder or more welcoming, with the City Council specifically commending CHOICES for the work we do. We hate to say goodbye to the Aspen Mine Center, but will continue to work closely with them.

One more exciting thing to share...in January our staff set goals for 2011. As we sat on a Tuesday morning, finalizing the goals, we knew the toughest of all was to find a champion of our cause within RE2 schools that would invite us back into the classroom at WPHS. This has been a relatively closed door for several years, while we've enjoyed great rapport with the RE1 schools down in Cripple Creek. This was a goal for the year, but within 24 hours the phone rang at CHOICES, asking us to come and present within the child development classes. The teacher had just found our info in a file and decided to call - we can take no credit for making this goal a reality! She has even said, "The more times you can come, the better."
This answer to prayer was such an encouragement to me. Working with our staff and volunteers who are so gifted to reach those in need is a privilege I don't take lightly. I am blessed!
With the flood of new clients, we need more volunteers available to train to advocate for those in crisis or to mentor expectant and new parents. Are you called to be a part? Volunteer training starts next week - come check it out and see if CHOICES is the place for you. Call or email for the details.
Blessings to each of you!
Kathryn Sneckner
Executive Director
P.S. Don't forget to save the date - April 29th - for the CHOICES Gala!
