"WHEN DO I USE THIS "EMERGENCY ROOM?"
When people are in need of food, shelter, safety, clothing...
use this place to post a need that warrants the Community's immediate attention.
Please keep your SOS brief, and devoid of a lot of personal details. Brief and to the point is best.

Examples of "Crisis or Emergency":
Sudden unemployment -- family needs food for kids, or money to pay gas bill.
House Fire -- family needs immediate shelter, food, clothes.
Homeless Friend -- Extra bedroom or temporary shelter needed.
Beaten Mother or Child -- Need to quietly find a temporary & safe place.
Single Parent is Hospitalized-- children need place to stay, rides to school, or dinners at home.
Elderly Shut-In -- needs wood cut for fireplace heat.
WHY?
Because it's the heart of Jesus. And God recently pointed us to Isaiah 58, and has very clearly told us:
"... to loose the chains of injustice ...
to share your food with the hungry,
and to provide the wanderer with shelter --
clothe those who are cold ..."
Isaiah 58 6-7

The Winter family will be moving soon (within WP) to a bigger house. Our current house will be available to rent by February, or sooner if needed. It's a three bedroom (plus office), three bath, 2 car attached garage on 0.48 acres near Meadow Wood park. It's been a great place for us, but we've out grown its 1,800 square feet. I just ran across this on Craigslist. Perhaps some of us could lend a hand:
I'm 21.. 8 months pregnant expecting to have my baby girl around march 3rd. Im unemployed, just started college, and am going to be a single mother. I am in need of basic baby nessessities in good condition such as a bassinette, small dresser for clothing storage, baby girl clothes and anything else that anyone is willing to donate. Mark Rabenhorst, who attends out church, has a friend whose basement was flooded with all the rain. It has been drained but they are now left with a lot of mud and mess in the basement. Mark is recruiting some people to come help with clean up over the next few days. You can contact Mark at mr7@umbc.edu to get more information on how you can help.

I am in immediate need of a car, again. I hit a deer on the way to work, going down the pass. My insurance doesn't cover car rental. I can drive either automatic or stick shift. I have no available time off for work after today (6/30/10). Please call me 321-8985, 687-9325. Thank you.

Our friends (Tasha & Anthony Bridges) who attended the church previously are back in town and have a need for temporary housing. They are a family of six and would need a place to rent from now until the end of July. Car needed...A soon-to-be single mom is expecting twins in a couple of months. She needs a car. She lives in Florissant and is using her parents car to get to doctors appointments.
