Father God in Heaven, please comfort and encourage Ann as she grieves for her friend, Joe Bixler. Father give her comfort during this tragic loss. Also, please hold Katie and Victoria and Ruger close. Let them know your love and help them get through this heaviness that they have to be feeling right now. In Jesus' Name, amen...

Please be in prayer for Ann Stratton. Ann lost a friend who was like a son to her. His name is Joe Bixler. He was a Navy Seal who returned from Afghanistan two weeks ago and was killed in a motorcycle accident on Monday. Joe was a believer. He leaves behind a wife, Katie, and two children, Victoria and Ruger. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 7th.

Pray for Greg and Jennifer Hardt. Jennifer is having her baby girl, Tabitha, on Monday, August 30, by c-section.

Pray for Diane Nowlin and her family. Diane's father passed away on Sunday, August 29.

I have good news! The retina specialist wants to remove the oil bubble he placed in my eye in November. The bad news is it means another delicate eye surgery on Sept. 16th. Please pray for steady hands and that he will see a reflection of Jesus in my eyes and in my life. Thanks.

Pray for John Smalls, a 50 year-old man who is in an induced coma after being hit by a car on Aug. 22. It was a hit and run. CSPD has not found leads yet to solving the case. John is in Memorial hospital in very serious condition with a swollen brain.

Now that my visa from Angola has arrived, please pray for my ministry trip there (with a Christian martial artist who lives in Angola) and to Namibia to work with the Navigators through most of September. Let’s keep the vast needs of flooded Pakistan in our prayers.

Please lift up Noah (our grandson). On Tuesday, the doctors will put Noah under and do 7 injections in his right forearm to help the muscles and tendons to relax. This is to help when Noah gives his brain the command to open and close the fingers on his right hand. They will respond. Also, Noah is being fitted for ankle braces because his ankles are leaning inward and will cause knee problems later. Also, that Patty and Brandon would continue to be drawn to the Lord and will find a church where the gospel is taught and all this will bring Noah to know Jesus. Terry’s dad is getting worse in his ability to hold himself up on his legs. His memory is becoming less and less as well.

Thanks for everyone for your prayers for my family. We had a long vigil as he was crossing over to be with his Lord. He was able to say his goodbyes to kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. Three of four daughter and the brother-in-law who had been his primary care-giver for many months were at his side when he drew his last breath. God is good and we thank him that we know Daddy is dancing with my mom on the streets that are golden!

Father, we are asking for your healing touch for Alyssa. You are able and we place her in your care. God, our men and women in the service are at risk everyday and we who have to stay behind and wait feel so helpless and afraid. Please, Heavenly Father, place your arms of protection and care around this group of soldiers. Bring calm in the face of fear, comfort in the face of sadness, freedom from pain and suffering. We trust you and we love you. You are our King!

Please pray for Alyssa. She is on day two of what we had hoped to be only a 24hr bug. She has fever,nausea and a raging headache. Please pray for healing and for resources to be able to take her to a doctor if that is what is needed.

I am writing you today with a heavy heart. My sisters husband Brandon is in Afghanistan and they were hit with ied. One of their guys died. Please keep them in your prayers. They are having a lot of casualties. I just wanted to get the word out for prayer. Thank you

Prayer Requests for the Week of August 23rd

Bruce Caldwell
Pray for Hermine Stearman and her family. Her dad passed away last Friday morning. Please be in prayer as the family plans for the service and handles the logistical details. Her dad was a believer in Jesus, so there is joy that he is in the Lord's presence, yet still there is grief at having to say good-bye.

Pray for the hurting marriages in our church family and our community. Marriage is under attack, and there are many hurting people who are suffering the effects. Pray for peace and reconciliation in these relationships.

Pray for Bill Pearson, Mike Schafer, Gary Smith and Arvid Wallen as they begin their service as our new elders at WPCC.

Pray for Barbara. Her knee is not doing well after 6 months of replacement.

Thank you for your prayers. Praise God! Our son, Aaron, has had surgery and is experiencing healing in his ankle. Aaron and his son, Isaac, have moved successfully to Wilmore, KY so Aaron can attend seminary (Asbury) and Isaac can attend kindergarten. Our daughter, Amanda, has married Patrick in a loving and meaningful celebration.

I am excited about the fall for our Women’s Ministry. Pray that there will be many women at the brunch this Saturday. Pray that our church body of women will reach out to invite women and girls in the community. Pray for the planning process for the brunch and for the fall life groups. We want to bless and be a vessel for the Lord’s work in our ladies. Also, pray that I will know my limits on involvement and balance family and serving.

I thank God for the privilege of praise and worship with all of you at WPCC. I pray and thank God for unexpected income for WPCC to meet and exceed the needs and wants of the church. I thank you for your prayers. I got moved. I start college on Monday, August 23rd. Pray for wisdom and that I would get all this math. I pray for the PUSH international team and the teams that are in the field.

Please be praying for Jeremy and Jennifer Schouten. Jeremy is stationed in Iraq and has just finished the 5 month of his 12 month term of duty. He says he's doing well but it's 120 degrees a day, not many believers around, and doing daily missions. Please lift him up and his family here. Jennifer and their girls miss Daddy!
