Gotta love randomness...
I was eating at the Texas Roadhouse (which happens about twice a year) with my family on Monday -kids eat free- night and Q102.7 had a booth set up out front, with a prize wheel that you got to spin once per family. The lady in charge really wanted us to win something besides a bumper sticker,so she let each of us spin. I was the last to go and won....a book! There were about 20 to choose from and I randomly chose this one because I liked the title and the graphics. God may as well have just showed up and handed this to me in person. So many things that I have been learning and questioning are totally echoed/answered in this book. It's eerie.

It is written by Donald Miller's (Blue Like Jazz) pastor and it's all about the right here, right now, Kingdom of God. Here's a quote that sums it up well.
"This Beautiful Mess will revolutionize the way you look at Jesus and His mission to bring the kingdom of God into our cosmos. If you are content with mere religion, don't read this book. It will force you to engage in the true mission of Christ."

I don't really like most religious books. Usually I only read them because I'm a voracious reader and sometimes I run out of material. I liked this one.

Wow... and it all started with the spin of a wheel!!
I love, and I’m intrigued by the book’s title. at-a-glance it reminds me of American astronaut John Glenn’s comment while looking back at earth from space:
“I see God everywhere.”

a quick snapshot at Creation, with all our struggles and chaos intertwined, when you shift your focus –
it is a “Beautiful Mess”.
