Save the Date - January 2, 2010
Start your new year off, with the third annual great race. Jason and I are putting together some really fun activities for this year, and we look forward to a great turnout. Anyone is invited to host a team of between 3 and 7 people. All ages are invited, but is a little tough to race with kids that are too little to run. Please hold January 2 for this year's race. We will be posting more details here has we develop them.
As always, we will be constructing the race so that footspeed and physical tasks can be achieved by nearly everyone, and no one will need to break traffic laws to win. We also received some good feedback from the 9 teams we had race last year and will be making the appropriate adjustments to make this year's race even better. We will also try and make the race a little shorter this year so we can be wrapping up around 4:00pm.
If you are interested please send me an e-mail (sleigh46@gmail.com) or comment on this forum with the name and e-mail of the team leader along with the number of people you expect will be on your team.
At this point we know that each team will need:
1. A licensed driver and vehicle to hold your whole team
2. A picture taking device to hold at least 20 pictures
3. Tee shirts for your team - these can be purchased or home made for close to nothing, but will help your team look especially sharp throughout the race. If you need something to work from Matt Parker has old Famine tee shirts and I have a bunch of Doxology tee shirts that you could likely pick up for $3 per shirt. Let me know if you're interested.
4. A cell phone device. We may upgrade to require a Smartphone, but we will let you know.
5. Some money. We have tried to keep it under $20 per team and will likely be able to accomplish that again this year.
6. Lunch money for your team $5 to $7 per member

I am laughing as I read this and can just FEEL the level of intensity, preparation and ligistics ramping up for this, the third annual GREAT RACE. I have just got to get in on this sometime, but I do look forward to hearing the stories and seeing the photos when I get back from my Christmas Vacation in Kansas.
I hope you get a great turnout. Seriously, if you want to have a hilarious day of fun and see who you really are and what your team is made of, you have to sign up for this people.
