Below is a message from our friend and brother John Uffelmann, who has been a part of our church family over the past several years. We wish him all God's best as he makes this transition in his life.
Dear Church Family:
This "final farewell" is sent to all of you along with my deepest thanks for your love, prayers and friendship!
After receiving keen advice from very godly friends, I have concluded that it is best for me to make a PERMANENT MOVE BACK TO VIRGINIA!
Hence, I am currently wrapping things up with calls, appointments, paperwork, etc. and hope to leave here either next Tuesday or Wednesday (4/13-14/2010 respectively). Thus this coming Sunday, April 11, 2010 will be my last Sunday enjoying worship and fellowship with all of you.
There were several major reasons for making this decision to move.
First and foremost, my dear friend, Mark Kline in Virginia offered me housing for an extended period of time. And since God did not open any doors of housing for me in the Woodland Park Area this seemed like the most logical open door to go through.
Second, the Denver VAMC could not schedule a heart catherization in the time frame I needed. Hence, Phyllis Wagar, the nurse practitioner felt that it would be best to have all of the medical work done on my heart in the DC/VA area since I was relocating back there.
Thirdly, a great friend of mine felt that my real heart and spiritual gifts were in the DC Area doing ministry with National Leaders.
So, beloved Church Family, there you have it, Answered Prayer!
On another vein: I have a number of items stored at a friends garage in Colorado Springs. These include: a bunk bed tailor made for a van, a regular twin size bed and mattress, lamps, file cabinets, chairs, dishes, microwave, etc. Over the next 3 to 7 days I would like to give away as much of these things as possible.
Hence, if anyone could use any of these items please let me know at your earliest convenience.
I will then put all of my other "personal" items in boxes ready to be shipped and/or put in my car if and when I visit Colorado again.
Finally, my thanks to the entire church family for your love, friendship and especially prayers related to my medical needs. ALL of you have been a great blessing to me. And you will be in my ongoing prayers - especially during the 1,700 mile drive cross country!
Thanks, blessings and prayers,
John
