Acoustic Music Small Group

Some of you may know I've been playing banjo for awhile and the occurred to me that there might be some interest to start a small group with other "closet" acoustic-type musicians in the church to play gospel/bluegrass music on an informal basis. I would like to keep it down to no more than 8 musicians just because it starts becoming a problem to find a place to meet and coordinate schedules if it gets much larger than that. As far as musical experience, I'm open but I was kind of thinking advanced beginner on up. I would like to meet every other week and we could discuss whether we wanted to do a potluck with spouses or just meet for "pickin".

Hey Dennis,
this sounds like it could be more fun than a barrel of monkeys. My main love is guitar, but I dabble in banjo,too. Background of doing Hendricks before hendricks, rock & roll band in the 60s, now living with Chroshe (sp?) and Buffett.......... a much easier lifestyle.

Hey Dennis,
I'd be interested in joiniong a bluegrass gospel group. I do a little with the banjo, but my favorite is guitar. Most of my time is open.

I don't get on the "net" too often, so call me at home 6874141, or track me down just before or just after the 2nd service. I'm hard to miss.....bald & sitting about 56 inches tall (in my chair)

Whoops, I guess I ought to follow my own threads more often! I thought I would receive an email or something when people replied.
